Dear family and friends,
As years go, 2022 has been quieter than most for the four of us, despite some easing of COVID-19 restrictions. Abby, now a junior in high school, continues to thrive at school and has begun the process of visiting prospective colleges such as Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where she and Joe took a selfie (the first of the photos below).
Likewise work has not changed much for the rest of us -- Patricia at a convenience store, and Gen and Joe at Duxbury Systems with Joe also occasionally involved with braille-related committees.
This was a lucky year for enjoying the flowering of our peonies over several weeks -- unlike some years when a wind-and-rain storm comes along to beat them down just as they reach full bloom.
We did spend our usual week at Wells Beach in Maine, which this year was especially joyful as a number of our extended family were also there the same week. So we not only got to swim in the ocean (still cold, but noticeably less so than years ago) and take sunrise photos, but also share our love of folk dancing with next generations. Teaching "Oj Maju Maju," a Ukrainian circle dance, to our grandchildren was a highlight of the week for us.
In September, Gen and Joe celebrated their 60th anniversary. Their regular dance group, the Framingham International Folk Dancers, joined by their Colonial dance group, hosted a party where among other things Gen and Joe were presented with a picture book covering some 34 years of involvement with dance. Such wonderful memories!
This Fall was especially colorful, which gave Joe a chance to indulge a long-standing hobby of photographing trees in our yard and all around the neighborhood.
So once again we come to the Season of Light and Hope for the coming year, which we hope will be a joy and blessing for all of you.
With love,
Gen, Joe, Patricia and Abby Sullivan
